Join our monthly support group
Welcome to our community, VSAR - Brigids provide a safe space for female victims-survivors of domestic abuse in Ireland. At our support groups, you can share your experiences, receive social support, and helpful information. We are here to support you through every step of the way.
Feel Safe
Prior to joining our support groups, members are asked to sign a confidentiality agreement. This is necessary given DV victims face imprisonment because of the in-camera rule. Our social support group is a safe space to share your experiences.

Feel Heard
Feeling unheard, discredited, dismissed and disbelieved is a common experience amongst DV victims-survivors. VASR group facilitators ensure all members have the option to share their difficult experiences. Sharing together helps victims-survivors identify the greater forces at work generating their negative structural experience - self blame lessens and clarity arrives.
How to join?
To join our monthly online support group, fill in the contact form below and a VASR team member will be in touch via email with further information.
Feel Connected
Social isolation is a common experience amongst DV survivors, yet we know social support is highly beneficial. Most one parent families in Ireland are female led households, many report feeling judged (CSO, 2016). VASR offer support groups connecting people with shared experiences.
Feel Believed
VASR group members have first hand experience of living with abusive partners. They understand the patterns, the manipulation, the risks and the control. Whilst every members story is unique, strong shared patterns emerge. VSAR Support Groups are a safe space where you no longer need to defend your every decision or action, rather you will be believed and supported.
When and Where?
Support Group meetings are held the second Monday of each month via zoom from 7.30pm to 9.00pm. A monthly email with the zoom link will be forwarded. Meetings are operated by two VASR facilitators. Complete our contact form to join.
